Cheeko is our super friendly and fun-loving 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. He was originally adopted from our Humane Society in August of xxxx, but his owner moved and left him behind at a friend's house and never came back for him. So now Cheeko is once again waiting for someone to give him a forever home! Cheeko is a super outgoing, playful and affectionate dog. He loves to be around our staff, volunteers and visitors. He also really enjoys playing fetch in our play yards or going for walks outdoors. He has been around children ages 5 years and up, and has always been well behaved around them. Cheeko has been around other dogs and lived with dogs in his most recent home, and peacefully coexisted with the dogs. He does like to play rough, so a younger active dog would be a good match for his play style. No cats please. Cheeko is very smart and active, and he has learned basic commands(sit, lay down, roll over) and is also house trained, crate-trained and leash trained. A good home match for him will be with a responsible and experienced dog owner that likes to go for walks/hikes and has time to exercise him every day. He did test positive for Lyme disease in xxxx, but has received antibiotic treatments at our Humane Society. He does not have any clinical symptoms of the disease. He will require normal Veterinary care at this point, and be kept on flea/tick preventative each month. An approved adoption application is required to adopt an animal from our Humane Society.
